What is the Capture Five Challenge?

The idea behind the Capture Five Challenge is simple: each day, capture exactly five photos. Not four, not six—just five. These photos can center on a single theme, like a beautiful sky or your favorite coffee ritual, or be five different moments that bring you joy throughout the day.

How It Works

Here’s how to get started with the Capture Five Challenge and make it a fulfilling part of your routine:

  1. Find Moments of Intention: Each day, as you go about your routine, look for moments that bring you a sense of joy, calm, or inspiration. With only five photos to take, consider what each image means to you. Let your camera help you see these moments with intention, whether it’s your cell phone, a new Canon, or a film camera you’ve been waiting to use.

  2. Take Exactly 5 Photos: The magic of the challenge lies in the limit of five. This pushes you to be selective and thoughtful. It’s not about perfection but about finding what resonates with you in each moment. Embrace the art of capturing five intentional, meaningful shots every day.

  3. Weekly Review: At the end of each week, set aside time to look through your collection of 35 photos (5 photos a day, multiplied by 7 days). Sunday nights are perfect for this. Choose the best five from your week, crop, edit, and add them to a special folder on your phone titled “Capture Five.” Over time, you’ll have a collection that reflects life’s special moments, seen through your own unique lens.
